Bereavement Friendly Church
Churches are one of the places in a community where people might seek comfort and support when bereaved. Whilst we feel we are doing many positive things within our church in that respect we would like to expand on this if possible. With that in mind, the PCC have recently been considering whether to sign the Bereavement Friendly Church charter. This is a list of measures of good practice that a typical bereavement friendly church would work towards in their own individual ways. This can be a helpful way to acknowledge our current good practice and provide inspiration for what other actions we may wish to take. There is more information in the link below:

With that in mind we are plannuing to hold a mapping exercise in the new year to look at the 12 measures of good practice within the charter, record what we are already doing to meet them and consider what further actions we may wish to take. It would be good to get a cross section of the congregation involved so please consider if you could come along and contribute. Please let Helen or Marion know if you are interested in contributing!
